Hermès has opened a new leather goods workshop in Loupes, Gironde in France, to expand its production capacity and strengthen its regional presence. The site will employ 260 artisans.
This is the brand’s 25th leather goods site in France and its sixth in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Hermès continues to invest in the leather goods and saddlery industry while keeping all production within France.

The Loupes site is the second workshop in Gironde after Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, which opened in September 2021. Artisans at the new facility will produce key products like the Kelly, Constance and Bride de jour bags. A dedicated unit will also handle development stages for new bag models.
Training is handled by the École Hermès des savoir-faire, a centre accredited by the French Ministry of Education since 2021. The programme offers free training, pays trainees and requires no prior qualifications. It awards CAP diplomas and CQP certificates in leatherworking.
Hermès also confirmed three more projects in Charleville-Mézières, Colombelles and Les Andelys, further boosting regional economic growth.
